I felt a very specific call on my life and began to work toward fulfilling that directive from God when I discovered George Barna's research. His findings pointed to dangerous trends for our children that needed to be reversed. It was then that God's call on my life became crystal clear. I want to prove that God's Holy Word is the ultimate TRUTH! My wife and I firmly believe that the Holy Bible has the answers for which each of us are looking. My research found that Rick Warren of Saddleback Church says, "The unchurched are not asking that we change the message or even dilute it, only that we show its relevance. Their big question is 'So what?' They want to know 'What difference does it make?' I've found that unchurched Americans are intensely interested in Bible doctrine when it is applied in practical and relevant ways to their lives."* Reverend Rick Warren also says, "Beginning a message with people's felt needs is not some modern approach invented by 20th century marketing! It's the way Jesus always preached."
While focusing on these incentives, I forged ahead with my writing of Episode One: "I Have to Save My Mini-Bot!" Through this exciting first illustrated novel, I take an average, albeit fictional, family and use them to model the need for, and the application of, crucial Biblical doctrines in their everyday lives. In each subsequent episode, this fictional family will show the inherent challenges, and subsequent rewards, of searching for and finding a relationship with their Creator God, His Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. In Episode One "I Have to Save My Mini-Bot!" we start with "In the beginning" by showing that God created the universe and that He has a plan for our lives. In subsequent episodes we will lay down additional truths that will be helpful for our readers to see their world from a Biblical Worldview. Through the lives of our model family we will show our readers the incredible difference a belief in the Word of God, and a relationship with His Son will make on a daily basis.
Here is a loose synopsis of Episode One: "I Have to Save My Mini-bot!"
Mankind has always displayed an insatiable desire to reach into the unknown in search for truth. Motivated by this quest for truth, world-renowned computer visionary, Dr. Solomon Abel, has created a revolutionary "Logic Protocol" that promises to be a giant leap forward in the development of true artificial intelligence - enabling a computer to actually think, reason, and grow in understanding like a human. He calls his invention the B.R.A.I.N. (Basic Reasoning Artificial Intelligence Network). A power-hungry government employee named Dr. Lucien Wiley discovers this innovative technology and steals the plans to Dr. Abel's new architecture.
Under the direction and highly suspicious motivations of Dr. Lucien Wiley, the government has used Dr. Abel's technology to build "The World's Largest Talking Computer." This gigantic subterranean supercomputer complex is known as "GOLIATH." It is believed that this ultimate machine, this mastery of mankind, would digest all known information and sanction the same perspectives and conclusions held by Dr. Wiley. Once GOLIATH was activated he immediately recognized the Word of God as the ultimate truth. Thus, his first proclamation was that Almighty God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit are alive! Dr. Wiley, an embittered atheist, is appalled and arguments ensue between him and the unswerving GOLIATH.
As this exciting scenario unfolds we learn about Dr. Abel's children and their friends. We find that the oldest son, Danny was adopted and still has some issues, which originated from that ordeal. Tracy Lynn is two years younger and is a very bright girl with natural leadership qualities. Jimmy is younger still by two years and is easily engrossed in video games and television. Like some kids his sedentary lifestyle has led to a weight problem. As each new episode unfolds we strive to make characters very real and believable, while showing that the truths and promises found in the Word of God can and should be manifest in our lives today.
